O’ Ka’u Kakou in the Hawaiian language means: We are Ka’u.
Ka’u is the name of the southern region of the Big Island.
Our mission statement is: To foster health and prosperity for all of Ka’u.
The objectives of O’ Ka’u Kakou are:
- To unite our members in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship, and mutual understanding.
- To promote the theory and practice of community welfare and peaceful coexistence.
- To take an active part and interest in the civic, economic, social, health, and moral welfare of our community, while favoring no race, color, or creed.
- To provide a forum for the full and free discussion of all matters of public interest, except those specifically prohibited by O’ Ka’u Kakou’s Constitution and Bylaws.
